Monday Playlist: UK Jazz

While it never has been a terribly mainstream genre, jazz has been alive and well since its inception. Jazz, as a genre, is very malleable, and is able to contemporize itself to the times; it has always pushed the envelope and challenged the conventions of music.  Current jazz artists are incorporating aspects of other genres (a blend of electronic, psych, world, hip-hop, etc) to create a futuristic sound lightyears removed from Dixieland and Dave Brubeck.  No region has been a better example of this recent jazz innovation than the United Kingdom, who's eclectic and progressive culture has given birth to a diverse and incredible underground culture of modern jazz.  ENJOY!
